DB here! Do you want to have some FUN today and look great afterward? This is going to be a great secret skin care process that you can do anytime. Here is what you do: get a ripe Avocado that is soft and can be easily mashed. If you are doing on your own you only need half, save the other half for your salad. Add the ingredients from an opened capsule of Alpha-lipoic acid to the smashed avocado and blend it in there really good. Now this is what you do, take some of the mixture and spread it all over your face and let it dry. Keep it on for a half hour or so. You can save the mixture and do it the next day if there is any left. You can take a shower and wash it all off. I can tell y ...

DB here! How are you today? Does your left shoulder area and mid back region have some pain? Is your nose running? These are common body signals that can be associated with guess what? SUGAR consumption. I know it is challenging to avoid sugar on Thanksgiving if you do not plan ahead. I want to turn you on to other sweeteners that can be used if you have a passion for baking. Go to my web page, link to cooking videos with Dr. Bob, scroll over to the left and below and you will see RECIPES. I would suggest you may want to pursue alternatives to sugar like: pear sweet, fruit source, honey, maple syrup and even agave nectar. The reason I am bringing up sugar, is because most of the patients that come into my office with chronic health challenges, nearly always have sugar several times a day. If you drink classic sugar with you are getting a lot of calories and the immune weakening effects of sugar.&am ...

DB here! HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I would like to thank all of you that have been to my web site looking over the nuggets of information that I have been passing on. You can minimize digest distress today by minimizing the amount of fluids you drink with your meal. Water will dilute the pH or acid in your stomach, minimizing the digestive fluid from doing it's job. I would not drink cold water. Cold water stagnates digestion. I would suggest you may want to have desert a few hours after your main meal. Desert will tend to lay on top of all the other food you have consumed creating digestive distress. Check out the chestnut video on my previous blog. Chestnuts taste great with just about anything on Thanksgiving. DB

DB here! Eating an apple a day is the single, BIGGEST positive health tip you can do for yourself. Apples are loaded with minerals and other vital nutrients to fuel your system. I encourage my patients to eat a red apple versus a green one. Why? While studying for my NHD degree, I had an opportunity to take a class on Indian or ayvuredic medicine. I really learned a tremendous amount of useful nuggets. Green apples tend to stagnate digestion. You want optimal digestion to create a state of health in your body. One of the most significant; and there are many by the way benefits of eating an apple include they help minimize the negative effect of oxidation or RUST in your body. This is very IMPORTANT. If you have a bit of time, purchase some red apples, Fuji and Gala are my favorites, peel them and cut them up and ...

DB here! You can learn a lot by observing your own body. Finger nails peel and chip when you body is not functioning up to par. I recently discovered how important iodine is for nail health. I have patients who have cold hands and feet. These are the most common symptoms of a low thyroid. Recently I had a patient who use to put acrylics on her nails. This by the way is not a good idea. There are a lot of toxins in this process that will enter your body. Anyway, I determined through the urine iodine loading test that she was deficient in iodine. We recommended the amount she needed and for three weeks she did real good, then her nails started peeling and breaking. We cut back on the dosage, and her nails are the strongest they have been in her life. I wish I could give everyone of you reading this the exact amount of iodine you need, it is not always easy to determine the specifi ...

DB here! Pain can be precipitated by so many possibilities: sugar, trans fat, dairy, wheat, night shades, citrus, alcohol, not enough water, trauma or injuries etc. the list can go on. I can tell you from experience ice cream addiction creates more pain then any other food that I see in diet journals. Ice cream, especially the type from a machine like "soft serve" seems to be the biggest culprit. Ice cream causes changes on x-rays that show up as calcium deposits on the largest blood vessel in the body, called the aorta. I see this a lot in side lumbar x-rays. Do you love ice cream? Should I even ask? People who crave it have more issues with blood sugar and even pancreas cancer. How do you stop the cravings -- you ask. Eat more sesame seeds and almonds for calcium, eat greens for magnesium, flax oil for fat, and chicken and turkey for protein. Patients and clients who ...

DB here! Do you know what is one of the primary causes of yellow teeth? You are not going to believe it -- a low thyroid gland. The teeth whitening market place is a billion dollar industry. I have consistently seen the yellow tint leave patients teeth when they get the right amount of iodine in their system.
Do you have cold hands and feet? Do wake up with a headache that goes away as the day goes on? These two body signals are the two most common symptoms that I consistently see in patients or clients that also have yellow teeth. I can tell you from what I have read and seen the active ingredients in commercial whiteners can create long term health challenges. I would not put peroxide on my teeth. I have seen globules of peroxide bubbles in patients blood who use mouth wash whiteners. The color changing strips that have acid content can take the enamel off ...

DB here! Sweet potatoes are an awesome alternative to white potatoes. There is a term you may have heard called night shades. The term night shade has been used for a set of items that can create pain in the body. The veggies including themselves do not create the problem, the real issue is a congested liver. There is a chemical in the night shades called solanine. Solanine is an alkaline toxin that creates stress to most of your all ready maximized liver. The night shaded plants include but not limited to: white potatoes, green pepper, egg plant, tomatoes and ceyene pepper. Actually the term night shade has to do with the flower on the plant itself that these veggies are grown on. I would like to recommend trying sweet potatoes or yams instead of white potatoes this Thanksgiving. White potatoes can cause mid back pain. Mid back pain is very common ...
