A Dr. Bob “Approved” Daily Routine

Start your day by drinking a hot glass of water with lemon and one-half of a red apple.  What’s so great about apples?

-The pectin they contain can lower the LDL (or bad) cholesterol.

-Their double fiber combination can reduce the risk of arteries hardening, heart attack, and stroke

-The levels of flavonoids, quercetin, and naringin in them are believed to help lower the risk of lung cancer.

-Also, eating one as a start to your day helps promote liver function.

What about beets?

-One-third cup every day can lower your cholesterol by 40%!

-One-half cup is a mere 37 calories.

-They’re sweet on their own, with only seven grams of sugar per 1/2-cup serving.

-They are a good source of vitamin C, potassium and iron.

-They give you the cancer-fighting antioxidant beta-carotene plus two grams of healthy fiber.

-I cannot praise beets enough!

Finally, carrots are an excellent source of antioxidant agents.  As a result, they can:

– Protect against cancer and cardiovascular disease.

– Reduce cholesterol and are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin K and potassium.

– Improve skin and vision

– Fight cancer (especially lung and pancreas)

– Reduce blood cholesterol level

– Relieve constipation and other colon disorders

– Boost immune system
