I just finished your book, “Balancing Female Hormones” and it was amazing. My question is that my cycles are every 40-42 days. I’m 38, have had 4 children (all breastfed). I am not on BC and haven’t been since I was in my early 20’s. I follow a Paleo diet, eat only organic vegetables and a small amount of dairy each day. I’ve had blood work done and my thyroid is sluggish. I am not estrogen dominant per my blood work. I take Vit D3 (4000iu), krill oil, K2, probiotic, b-complex and 6-12 mg of iodine every day. I also have a movement each day and eat my ABC’s! Is it ok to have that long of a cycle? We are on well water as well. I drink a cup of coffee each morning with grass fed gelatin powder, Coconut oil and stevia. Ok, that’s it!:).

Longer cycles are caused by a lack of regular ovulation. During a normal cycle, it is the fall of progesterone that brings upon bleeding. If a follicle does not mature and ovulate, progesterone is never released and the lining of the uterus continues to build in response to estrogen.

Test discussed: Urine-iodine, saliva (contact)

Hi Dr. Bob, is an anti TPO test enough to check for Hashimoto’s, or an anti TG is also necessary?

We normally start with a TPO and then follow the numbers accordingly (more in video).

Thyroglobulin antibodies

Thyroglobulin antibodies are specific for thyroglobulin, a 660 kDa matrix protein involved in the process of thyroid hormone production. They are found in 70% of Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, 60% of idiopathic hypothyroidism, 30% of Graves’ disease, a small proportion of thyroid carcinoma and 3% of normal individuals. Anti-TPO antibodies are present in 99% of cases where thyroglobulin antibodies are present, however only 35% of anti-TPO antibody positive cases also demonstrate thyroglobulin antibodies.

Is Himalayan salt the same thing or is that different?

Himalayan salt has 84 minerals. I use Celtic Sea Salt (More info on video)

You speak on Fatty Livers?  How do you know if you have one?  And what do you do about it?

A standing X-ray is the best way to see how big your liver actually is.

Vertical lines in fingers and toes, should I be concerned, if so, what should be done?

It is often adrenal stress.

Love the daily devotionals. Am wondering about some natural help for some tiredness and low libido. Have begun workouts and the Daniel Plan to reduce weight and improve health. Have read extensively about low T and its effects. I believe that may be the issue but have no desire for a pill to take. Thx for any suggestions, God Bless

I personally avoid sugar and do not eat soy. I supplement my body with Tribulus, Argiyzme, and Cytozyme-M. Make sure you also are in bed at a sensible time.
