Urinary

The urinary system includes a pair of kidneys with associated tubes called ureters that empty into the urinary bladder. The bladder’s external connection for urine release is called the urethra. In the male the urethra travels through the prostate and is compressed when the prostate enlarges.

Urinary

1. Kidneys
The two kidneys are located in the upper-lower spine. They filter toxins, and are important for many other functions including blood pressure control, mineral absorption, and vitamin D creation.

2. Ureters
The paired tubes which carry urine from the kidneys to the bladder.

3. Bladder
Located in the lower abdomen, it serves as a reservoir of urine.

4. Urethra
A tube carrying urine from the bladder to the outside.
