Green Machines

After reading thousands of diet sheets, I realized that some individuals eat only four or five items and that is all. An English muffin, burger and fries, Spaghetti O’s, and Jell-O with marshmallows mixed in; and they wonder why they get sick!

Green food is critical for optimal health. Deb and I have avocados everyday on our mixed green salad. You noticed I did not say iceberg lettuce. Avocados are a great source of fiber, monounsaturated fats like olive oil, carnitine for the brain, and they also stabilize blood sugar. If you ate avocados on your salad, you would have a better chance to make it to dinner without a snack. Celery helps lower your blood pressure, controls dizziness, and headaches. It is calming, good for digestion, water retention, and helps with weight loss and cancer. What is interesting about celery is the fact it requires more calories to burn digesting, than actually eating it. I would add some almond butter instead of peanut butter to the celery stalk.

Cabbage is a superfood. It kills bacteria and viruses and prevents cancer by sixty percent! Without eating cabbage you have a thirty percent greater chance to get colon cancer. Cabbage also helps to heal ulcers eighty-three percent faster. It is also great for vitamin A, skin, and eczema. We have it on our salad everyday.
