+ almonds, walnuts, cashews, sunflower, sesame | – peanut | best for protein, calcium, and DHA
How to Use
raw | roast| Celtic-Sea Salted | ‘butter’
I encourage our patients to include nuts and seeds in their daily eating schedule. My favorites include almonds, cashews, walnuts, and sesame and sunflower seeds. Almonds are considered a neutral nut, which means they do not alter the pH or acid/alkaline balance like other nuts, which tend to create an acid state. Almond butter is an excellent alternative to peanut butter. Walnuts will add a healthy long-chain fatty acid called DHA. Walnuts are great for brain and blood vessel health. Cashews are also an excellent nut. They will provide protein and good fat; they may add more fat, so watch your caloric intake. Sesame and sunflower seeds add calcium and protein, and I add them to my salad every day..
