Caramelized Turnips & Shallots



  • 1 1/4 pounds turnips, scrubbed and thinly sliced
  • 6 shallots, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons organic extra-virgin olive oil
  • Celtic Sea Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1/2 cup crushed pecans


Saute shallots in olive oil; add thinly sliced turnips and cook until fork tender.  You can also add red onion and/or garlic depending on your personal taste preference.  Remove from heat and add crushed pecans. 

Note:  Feel free to add anything you may have in your fridge towards the end of cooking time – such as left over kale, peas or asparagus.  Yummy!
