I happen to live beside a nuclear power plant here in Canada…We have been issued iodine pills in case bad stuff happens..As I understand the iodine pills are taken to prevent radioactive iodine from entering the thyroid by basically filling it…The question is..How does this type of radiation affect someone with no thyroid and with no thyroid are the iodine pills needed..thanks..
