										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Two people I respect professionally are Oprah and Ellen Degeneres, and one of their most popular segments during their season is their “Favorite Things” episodes usually around Christmas. I’m sure you have seen them, it’s usually when the audience members go crazy. In this blog, I’m not trying to upstage them, but I would like to list my favorites which I consume every day; some for pleasure, and some to make sure I am performing at my optimal health levels. Enjoy!</p>
<p><a href="https://store.druglessdoctor.com/agrisept-l-citric-seed-extract/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Agrisept-L:</a></p>
<p>If there is a product that has stood the test of time (20+ years I have been taking it), and has prevented me from food poisoning, sickness, and boosted my immune system, it would be Agrisept-L. It is extract from citrus seeds including, grapefruit, lemon and tangerine. This combination of potent vitamin C bioflavonoids continues to be effective, and I use ten drops in 4-6 ounces of water every morning.</p>
<p><a href="https://store.druglessdoctor.com/bio-d-mulsion-forte/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Bio-D-Mulsion Forte:</a></p>
<p>This is my second “favorite” product that I turn to each day. Vitamin D helps to pull calcium from your intestine to the blood. For example, vitamin F (flax oil), transports calcium to the skin for strong tissue integrity. I take and enjoy vitamin D because it has been part of my protocol to prevent painful cold sores I would get around my mouth several times per year. I apply two drops on my tongue in the morning. Taking vitamin D also keeps me stabilized and holds my calcium levels in check where they need to be. My immune system is also stronger, and my skin does not itch when I jog two or more miles (a body signal of low calcium). I would personally recommend that EVERYONE take Agrisept-L and vitamin D during the cold, dark winter months.</p>
<p>Dr. Bob’s Coffee</p>
<p>I appreciate good coffee, and I enjoy going to independent coffee shops whenever I am traveling. Having said that, sometimes I don’t have enough time and I always bring my own coffee just in case to make in my hotel room. (I also have it every morning as well). The roaster which I use purchases the freshest beans, which are organic and fair trade, and then roasts the beans with actual hazelnuts. I’m actually drinking a cup as I write this blog entry.</p>
<p>Herb Pharm’s Herbal Breath Tonic</p>
<p>I have never been a gum chewer. In fact, I never promote chewing gum to my practice members (another blog post), but I never leave my house without a bottle of Herb Pharm’s Herbal Breath Tonic. Talking throughout the day, eating breakfast or lunch on the run (I do that too!), leaves me with a limited time to brush my teeth at the office, but a spritz or two of this keeps my breath fresh without any sweeteners. <p>Speaking of keeping your mouth clean and fresh, I love using this toothpaste. There are no fluorides and chemicals to complicate your optimal health strategy. When I use it, I feel comfortable and confident I am not tricking my body with hidden substances. I also have practice members who tell me how much their mouth feels fresh and clean, and have even seen some practice member’s skin clear up because of the fluoride sensitivity.</p>
<p>So there you have it, some of my favorite products I use for fun, and to keep me healthy. <p>In this week&#8217;s recap, we begin our August focus on children&#8217;s health, where we will be providing drugless tips to help your children have the healthiest lives possible. <p>Day 1: Hi Everyone! BBQ is a summer past time, but some of my practice members share that they have digestive distress after eating certain animal tissue. My #OptimalU for today is on page 151 and says: Evaluate your digestive response to any animal tissue you consume and be mindful of marinated products (their ingredients can include sugar, HFCS, and MSG).</p>
<p>Day 2: <a href="https://druglessdoctor.com/tbt-share-magazine-2/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">#TBT</a></p>
<p>Day 3: Hi Everyone! August is here (already), and with that comes a new #OptimalU focus, which is dedicated to kid&#8217;s health, and some of our closest family friends at Black Brain are going to be our &#8216;models&#8217; for the month. Today&#8217;s takeaway is on page 298: Teething and bone growth require calcium. Childhood fevers often stabilize with calcium citrate or lactate.</p>
<p>Day 4, 5: Off</p>
<p>Day 6: Our August focus is on kid&#8217;s health, and today&#8217;s #OptimalU  is on page 299: Read ingredient labels. What is applied to the skin (baby oil/mineral oil, which is a commonly used petroleum ingredient), needs to be processed and incorporated into the cells or eliminated. <p>I want to invite you to our July #OptimalU live event, which is happening tomorrow (Wednesday, taped replay) as Debbie and I will be recapping the first seven months of 2014. RSVP here. This past week I talked about cucumbers, eating raw vegetables at each meal rather than boiling, and NOOOO yogurt. Enjoy!</p>
<p>Day 1: I know many of you enjoy bananas (trust me, I read your diet journals), but I want to encourage you to try something different. My #OptimalU for today is on page 63 and says: Substitute a wedge of cucumber, a relative to the watermelon, for your potassium instead of a high-carbohydrate banana.</p>
<p>Day 2: Yogurt has become a staple for breakfast, but is on my unapproved food lists. My #OptimalU for today is on page 56, and suggests to read the label on your yogurt container. Sugar, HFCS, and even corn starch are added to satisfy people&#8217;s sweet addictions.</p>

<p>Day 6: Within the past few years, I have noticed some of our practice members eat too much fruit. Apples are the only fruit that I recommend you eat (1/2 red everyday), and my #OptimalU for today is on page 54 with the help of my friends at Swanson Health Products: Peel and dice fresh apples and simmer over medium heat. Add cinnamon, cloves, and enjoy a fresh applesauce treat!</p>

<p>Day 7: A few weeks ago I suggested steaming your vegetables versus boiling them, for today&#8217;s #OptimalU on page 126, I also recommend having raw vegetables with a meal since heat can destroy nutrients, while also giving your pancreas a breather.</p>

<p>I hope that you are enjoying your summer, even though it seems to be flying by, as it always seems to do! I want to invite you to our July live event, which you can RSVP for free here. I will be joined again by my wife Debbie, and I&#8217;ll take your questions live, and make sure to giveaway something at the end.</p>
<p>For this week&#8217;s recap, I have a few reminders about exercise, and why you should consider sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes, and steaming versus boiling vegetables. Enjoy!</p>
<p>Day 1: Steam your vegetables versus boiling them. (Broccoli, cabbage, and green beans are some examples)</p>

<p>Day 2: A few of my #OptimalU&#8217;s have been about nightshades this year, including today&#8217;s. Sometimes individuals experience digestive discomfort from eating tomatoes, eggplant, and white potatoes (French fries!!) they have a substance in their &#8216;makeup&#8217; called solanine, which is a liver irritant. That&#8217;s why on page 214 I suggest trading your white potatoes for sweet potatoes. You can bake them, or make homemade fries w coconut oil.</p>
<p>Day 3: Mixed greens with protein is the midday fuel for champions.</p>
<p>Day 4, 5: Off</p>
<p>Day 6: Today, one out of five Americans have the metabolic syndrome, or Syndrome X, which is a list of abnormalities that raise your chance for heart disease including blood pressure of at least 130 (systolic), triglycerides of at least 150, and waist measurement of 35 in (female) 40 in (male). My #OptimalU for today on page 78 says: Exercise, even if you don&#8217;t lose weight, because that is one way you can reverse the metabolic syndrome.</p>
<p>Day 7: Hi Everyone! Most of you know that beets are one of my favorite foods that I suggest you add to your diet every day, and my #OptimalU for today on page 135 will help you to be stain-free: When preparing beets, wear some sort of covering on your hands to prevent staining. <p>This week we have a variety of images to show you, and hopefully they will help you to think about making wise, healthy choices in your drugless journey, enjoy!</p>
<p>Dr. Bob</p>
<p>Day 1: Did you have freckles growing up, or do your kids currently have them? On page 326, I explain that freckles are a body signal with elevated copper (too much wheat and soy is one possibility) and low zinc.</p>
<p>Day 2: Lay on your exercise ball five minutes daily. This can help you stretch and improve your posture.</p>
<p>Day 3: In my opinion, one of the most important things you can do for you and your family&#8217;s health is to consume organic produce and meat. Many practice members have improved their conditions just by this change, which is my #OptimalU focus on page 161 today: Consume less conventional, processed food and focus on organic food.</p>
<p>Day 4, 5: Off</p>
<p>Day 6: For today&#8217;s #OptimalU, we are focusing on your liver. That organ&#8217;s role is the &#8220;oil filter&#8221; of your body, but also stores blood and vitamins like A, D, E, &amp; K, so it&#8217;s important to keep it &#8220;clean.&#8221; You can do that by adding my ABC&#8217;s to your diet daily: 1/2 red apple, 1/3 cup of beets/beet fiber, and one medium carrot.</p>
<p>Day 7: Summer is the best season for fresh herbs (that you can plant, too). My #OptimalU for today on page 137 suggests adding chives to an egg salad with Celtic Sea Salt (try it for lunch).</p>

<p>Day 1: Once a day, do something unexpected to bless someone, no strings attached (like holding the door open).</p>
<p>Day 2: Add your favorite fresh herb (or herbs) to your salad, entrees, or side dishes</p>

<p>Day 6: Organic vanilla extract can be added to any food-be creative. Try adding it to Dr. Bob&#8217;s coffee, and also add coconut oil. <p>Day 7: Hi Everyone, I have a few things for you to consider today. Have you ever taken your pH? You use pH strips, which are yellow, put them in your mouth and it will turn a color which will signify if you are acid or alkaline. Preferably, I like to see your pH at 6.5. Today&#8217;s #OptimalU is on page 131 and says: If you have pain and drink or eat an orange, limit consumption for one month (normally, a pH that is purple in color is common with those who eat citrus).</p>

<p>This is the official &#8216;halfway&#8217; recap for #OptimalU and for the month of July we are going to stroll down memory lane and highlight each month&#8217;s focus including water, sleep, exercise, and meal planning. I hope you have a safe July 4th, and here are some of my dessert and side dish recipes if you will be celebrating!</p>
<p>Dr. Bob</p>
<p>Day 1: Hi Everyone! How is your memory? I know you will love me when I say this, but minerals and vitamins that help your memory are depleted when you consume&#8230;SUGAR. Today&#8217;s #OptimalU on page 328 suggests to keep your mineral levels high with Celtic Sea Salt, greens, and seeds are excellent sources.</p>
<p>Day 2: Do you bruise easily? My #OptimalU for today on page 109 suggests a prothrombin time test with your healthcare provider and eat raw bell peppers (yellow, orange, and red) since they are a good source of vitamin C.</p>
<p>Day 3: Can you raise your arms above your head without pain? Bursitis is a condition that affects the tissues around the muscles and bones of your shoulder. Today&#8217;s #OptimalU on page 124 recommends to not drink water with your meals since it can raise saliva pH, which bursitis is often associated. Apple cider vinegar and vitamin B6 can help.</p>

<p>Day 6: As we wrap up June&#8217;s focus, if you are someone that &#8220;needs&#8221; to have some sort of sweet everyday, my #OptimalU on page 188 suggests that chromium (this one is from our friends at Swanson Health Products) is a mineral that can reduce your sugar cravings.</p>
<p>Day 7: I personally can&#8217;t believe 2014 is halfway over, but it has been fun sharing these photos/videos with you throughout the week. This month we are reviewing our first six focuses (water, relationships, exercise, sleep, and meal planning) and today&#8217;s #OptimalU is on page 43: Avoid water that is not pleasant to the taste-it may contain harmful substances.</p>
