#OptimalU-Week 1 Recap

Hi Everyone!

I hope that you are braving the cold, and not throwing hot water in the air to see if it freezes. Also, if you are joining us for #OptimalU, I hope that you have found the first seven days to be educational, and that you have started to implement the changes. Each Wednesday, I will be writing a recap of the week’s takeaways and posting the videos and pictures here for you. If you would like to download a free preview of my updated “Guide to Optimal Health”, just click here. Lastly, we are going to be having our first live event on Wednesday, January 29th at 9PM EST, discussing this month’s #OptimalU focus: Water. I hope to see you there!

Dr. Bob

Day 1: Start your day with a cup of hot water and lemon. This is an excellent liver cleansing stimulant.

Water & Lemon

Day 2: Adequate water consumption (one quart per day) is necessary for healthy skin no matter what the age. Do not count soda or coffee as water.

Day 3: Swimming in bromine/chlorine-treated pools and hot tubs tends to deplete iodine. For a natural source of iodine, choose sea vegetables from an organic source. Shower dechlorinators are an excellent option to reduce shower sourced chlorine. (Which we have a sale on this January!!)

Day 4: Eat one, fresh organic vegetable, raw, steamed, or sautéed that you have not tried before. Brussels sprouts are filled with vitamin C, B6, & A. I usually remove the outer layer, slice in half and sauté in olive oil with garlic.

Day 5: (Day Off)

Day 6: Do not drink water that tastes, smells, or looks particulate. Tap water that has an odor of chlorine in the winter months should be avoided.

Day 7: Alcohol consumption creates additional stress on an already overworked liver. The liver is your recycle organ; keep it pure.
