These were the questions that were asked in this episode of #AskDrBob. Click the blue box to watch the video. Thank you for sending us your general health questions. We hope they make a difference in your life.
1. Despite the fact that I am naturally health conscious in my food and lifestyle choices, I have an array of symptoms that I am unable to get to the bottom of. I have had very dry skin all my life and a toenail infection That nothing, even laser treatment, has made even the smallest impact (tests show no sign of Candida). I am 65 and my skin is thin and lifeless. I still have hot flushes and have recently been diagnosed mildly hypertensive 141/85 average readings. I am also gluten intolerant. I had a very stressful episode in my life and have low cortisol in the mornings. I react quickly to the slightest stressful situation. I have real food, good fats, virtually no sugar, lots of veggies etc and only drink water and herb teas. I take a variety of supplements. Interestingly despite all this I feel and look well. I walk regularly and play tennis. Any suggestions please.
If you have dry skin, it is a fat metabolism problem, and also your liver. If you have chronic toenail fungus, it is a colon concern. I would recommend reading “The Yeast Connection” and eliminating fruit (all) from your diet. Here is more information about the colon. Lastly, I would collect a sample of your stool and have it checked for parasites.
2. I know you are a huge fan of Celtic Salt and I am sure for good reasons. Could you give your thoughts on Himalayan Crystal salt? I switched and am very happy with how I am feeling and it is wonderful to cook with!. I would like to know YOUR contrast/comparison of the two. I am suspicious of sea sources now with all the radiation, pollution, etc. Am I right to feel safer with the Himalayan Crystal Salt?
I am ok with Himalayan Crystal Salt, as long as it is unrefined.
3. Hi Dr. Pls explain to me why blood pressure goes high in the evening but very ok In the morning. Also prescribe for me something to normalize it naturally. Thank you.
More info in video as per why. Here are products that I mention in the segment: ADHS, Ashwagandha, and Eleutrho.
4. What is the cause of enlarged varicose veins in the uterus?
Any issue of varicose veins is always a liver concern. To clean it, I would recommend eating Dr. Bob’s ABC’s (½ red apple, 1 medium carrot, and ⅓ cup of beet fiber per day). Here are additional articles on liver health.
5. My husband had a severe case of anemia. How can this be treated?
I would recommend testing your ferritin level. You are looking for the globulin level to be 2.7 or below. If it is above 2.7, he’s not digesting food properly. In the meantime, I do recommend removing gluten from his diet. Contact customercare at druglessdoctor dot com for more info on the ferritin test.
6. I read ~ best to use unrefined coconut oil – which is best refined or unrefined??
7. Is it harmful to drink and eat from plastic? I drink a tsp of apple cider vinegar in 8 oz of water every day. I use a glass made of glass for this. I thought the vinegar may not do well in plastic. I buy water in plastic bottles and sometimes I refill these and continue using them.
Glass is always the best option.
8. I have question, my microwave at work the glass shattered on the door but it still works so I’ve been using it & someone said that’s not good to use and I could get radiation from it. What do you think & is there anything I should do or take to prevent damage to my body?
More info in video.
I have white spots where my pigments are leaving.what can I do.
Ruth,
I have your question for an upcoming Ask Dr. Bob. DB
Dr. Bob, 4 years ago I was diagnosed with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. I am 60 years old, thin and in good shape.
I am being treated with methotrexate and Humira injections. I stay away from nightshades as much as possible, I don’t eat dairy products, eat lots of green veggies, few fruits, hardly any sugar, somewhat gluten free ( I find it very hard to stay away completely from that).
I am grateful for those medications. But would love to not to have to take them anymore. I tried once to stay away from the meds for 6 months and it was awful. By the time I got back to the rheumatologist my joints were so swollen and painful they had to put me on high doses of Predisone for a long time on top of all the other stuff.
I am frustrated. Is there anything you recommend?
Thank you.
