These were the questions that were asked in this episode of #AskDrBob. Click the blue box to watch the video. Thank you for sending us your general health questions. We hope they make a difference in your life.
1. I watched your video when you were discussing sleep difficulties. It sounds as if I may need more calcium. Are there foods that I can eat for more calcium in place of supplements?
Sesame seeds, almonds, and kale. Limit the amount of almonds you consume in a sitting.
2. My mother is in first stages of dementia. Do you have any recommendations to slow or reverse this process?
Coconut oil helps to improve cognitive thinking, as well as avocados.
3. How can we avoid and/or treat symptoms of Lyme disease?
I personally take Agrisept-L everyday.
4. I recently read an article indicating that some pain syndromes are eased with the use of Iodine. Do you agree with this and if so, how much iodine would be necessary?
I take 12 mg of iodine daily, which helps calcium absorption, and is important for thyroid function.
5. I’ve recently started losing a lot of hair on a daily basis. What would be causing this and how should I treat it?
Make sure you are getting oil (flax, anchovy, coconut) and protein. You can watch my “Get To Know” Hair here.
6. Since I don’t live close to your location, I’m looking for a Natural Health Doctor /Chiropractor in my area. What should I look for or questions should I ask in determining the best doctor for myself and family?
Do they treat the whole body? Make sure they just don’t promote taking vitamins-rather it’s about lifestyle changes.
7. It’s starting to cool down and get cloudy in the north. At what point should I start taking vitamin D and how much?
I’d recommend a vitamin D assessment to check your levels, it also helps calcium absorption, starting taking vitamin D drops October 1st.
