These were the questions that were asked in this episode of #AskDrBob. Click the blue box to watch the video. Thank you for sending us your general health questions. We hope they make a difference in your life.

1. I am 47 years old and for the first time I skipped my regular menstruation cycle. I went to visit a doctor. My examinations showed normal findings except that my uterine wall is thin and it did not thicken as a usual expectation before I get my menstrual flow. I was given Duphaston to take one tablet a day for 5 days. I’m not sure what would be the effect of this medication. I was asked to come back after 5 days for hormonal replacement therapy. What do you think Dr. Bob?

The most significant area is to help your adrenal gland function. Take a blood pressure from a sit to a stand. Your adrenals make progesterone and may consider have an Adrenal Stress Index.

2. What are the correct milligrams for supplements of calcium, Vitamin D, Iodine and B vitamins one should add to their vitamin intake per day?

It truly depends on what your body needs at this given time, and also depends on the company which your purchase. I would concentrate on low dosage.

3. Do you have a suggestion on how to lower uric acid without medication. Because my husband needs help right now we don’t want for him to take more medication. I just want him to stay healthy without meds. He already taking blood pressure, blood sugar meds and thyroid meds. Hopefully there are some natural alternatives for his problem. Kindly please give us suggestion on what to do for him.

In our practice we use folate (B12) which have helped those with low uric acid.

4. I feel healthy, cook my food, organic as much I can, I’m on bio-identical progesterone and thyroid (hypo). I take vitamins from a good source, now I’m experiencing itch inside both my ankles?! And sometimes my eyebrows swell and itch. What is your intake on this? Thanks so much.

I would limit your grains, and consider increasing your calcium.
