#OptimalU-Week 16 Recap

Hi Everyone!

Can you believe Easter has come and gone? When I was writing this post and typed week 16, I can’t believe how fast 2014 is going already. Because that is the case, I want to encourage you that it’s never too late to start our year-long campaign, based on my “Guide to Optimal Health”. I also want to invite you to our live event online next week. Here is the link to RSVP (free), you won’t want to miss it as we talk about sleep, and if you watched any of them so far, you know we always have a giveaway at the end!

This week’s recap includes many food photos, including a special appearance by my wife Deb. I hope you enjoy!

Day 1: As you “mature”, your sleep patterns will be very different from when you were younger, including hot flashes. Today’s #OptimalU on page 369 suggests: Hot flashes respond to a source of organic iodine. Men and women would do well to increase protein during the day to assist the body in having enough sleep-inducing tryptophan.

Day 2: Minimize citrus consumption if you experience elbow pain.

Day 3: Add a wedge of lemon to morning hot water, then eat the lemon. Also eat beets daily and take whole food B vitamins, all of which will help your liver!

Day 4, 5: Off, Happy Easter!

Day 6: Add one whole food, raw organic vegetable to your daily diet this week. Snap peas are a great snack (with hummus), and high in vitamins C, K, B’s, and iron.
