Anxiety Testing

#AskDrBob: Anxiety Testing, Lectin-Free Diet, Focus

Hi Everyone!

These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including anxiety testing. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present it in an upcoming episode. Thank you!

What do you think about Nootropics and brain benefits and focus? Would it affect people with hypertension, hypothyroidism, or other issues? Anything else you can suggest for natural brain focus and retention?

We use a variety of products to improve brain function. I would suggest having a Thyroid Profile, including the TSH, T3 and T4. If for example your T4 is normal (inactive thyroid hormone) and TSH is low, from my experience, it may suggest a “tired” brain. We supplement with a neonatal lamb sourced brain product and re-evaluate. There are ways to improve brain function, but you should create an objective way to measure the protocol.

Is a lectin-free diet a healthy lifestyle choice? What do you have to say about lectins in our foods? Are they as harmful to us as some believe?

Lectins are a family of proteins found in almost all foods, especially legumes and grains. Some people claim that lectins cause increased gut permeability and drive autoimmune diseases. While it is true that certain lectins are toxic and cause harm when consumed in excess, they’re easy to get rid of through cooking.

Is there a simple protocol for anxiety testing?

In “Dr. Bob’s Drugless Guide to Mental Health,” I have a short assessment called the “B and G” or  “Yin and Yang”  Test. There is a different protocol for depression and anxiety.  I have found most people have a combination of both. Stress is by far the primary reason for anxiety.
