Erythromelalgia

#AskDrBob: Erythromelalgia, Iodine, Absent Seizures

Hi Everyone!

These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including Erythromelalgia. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present them in an upcoming episode. Thank you!

My husband was just diagnosed with Erythromelalgia. His feet have been very painful and his doctor put him on Gabapentin to possibly help with the pain. What vitamin or gut health regime could I get him on to support his system or possibly do a liver cleanse. His A1C has always been 5.3 or 5.4 and now it’s 6. He’s been on the medicine a week now so don’t know if medicine is making that go up? Any advice would be appreciated. He is not overweight and eats healthy.

For Erythromelalgia, I would need to see his lab results to make any suggestions. Please consider a wellness consultation with me.

Is there anything that can be done or treatment for absent seizures?

I would suggest an Opti-Cardio Plus Profile to evaluate the current state of health.

I recently had blood work done and the doctor reported I have high levels of iron. She asked if I was taking an iron supplement, which I am not. What could be the root factor of high iron levels?

We have treated elevated iron levels. We do have a protocol but as I mentioned above, there are so many factors to take into consideration to make a recommendation.

Could you please say something about the different kinds of iodine supplements available and how to choose one? I understand the potassium iodide added to table salt readily evaporates so we are not even benefiting from that. The average dietary iodine intake in Japan is 12.5 mg. Most of the supplements in American stores are just a few micrograms of potassium iodide. Americans don’t have a fondness for eating sea vegetables. Dried culinary seaweed is readily available. I understand there are several forms of iodine not counting topical ones. What’s a person to do?

I am familiar with Biotics’ Iodizyme and I take 1 daily, which is 12.5 mg.
