Face Masks
Hi Everyone!
These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including face masks. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present it in an upcoming episode. Thank you!
I took a 24-hour urine iodine test and took 50 mg of iodine but only excreted 40 mcg. Is that a severe or moderate deficiency?
In our practice, we use the Urine Iodine Loading Test. This lab gives the amount excreted in % versus value. The best would be to excrete nearly all of the iodine. Your 40 number is typical. On the other hand, I look at other factors and body signals including low thyroid signals, T4 and TSH. More info in video.
Dr. Bob you are amazing! My daughter seems to be very emotional all the time now and the flow seems to be almost constant and the cramps and pain seems torturous and constant. Both sides of her family have a history of endometriosis. My ex-wife says there isn’t anything we can do to help her and is convinced it’s all symptoms of endometriosis. So I’d really like your professional opinion. I truly love what you do for people and of your wisdom on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
Your daughter probably has a compromised liver– cut back sugar and fruit. She can probably use B vitamins. You do not want her to eat sugar, and you and your ex-wife should read, “Dr. Bob’s Drugless Guide to Balancing Female Hormones.” Lastly, you may also consider a consultation for your daughter.
Question: should I take a diabetic medicine to control my appetite to lose weight? I’m not a diabetic and I asked my doctor for a weight loss medicine. He said my insurance only would pay for a drug called Metformin HCL ER. My blood work is good but my blood pressure is up. I have a copy of my blood work can I fax it to you.
I would suggest looking at your thyroid (see first question above for link) and also write down what you are eating. Avoid the obvious: sugar, bread, cookies, wine and other alcoholic beverages. Exercise daily. You can schedule a personal consultation with me here.
I actually did the ABCs with Organic Honeycrisp for several months; until I couldn’t take the bloating, gas and pain. Now what should I do?
It sounds to me as if you may have some potential liver-gallbladder distress (not enough digestive enzymes or some other GI issue). More info in video.
I am very unsure if I should be wearing face masks or not. What I believe is that as long as I am eating healthy, taking my supplements (Agrisept, etc.t) that boost my immune system, and going to my Chiropractor for continued preventative adjustments I don’t need to wear face masks. It would sure help my confidence level to hear it from a knowledgeable professional as you are to say this is OK. Or set me straight and tell me to start wearing my mask. I will listen to you and do what you say to do.
From my observation, masks should be worn by those who are coughing regardless if they have a fever or not (and adhering to local and state government orders at the current time). With that being said you would be further ahead by avoiding sugar which weakens the immune system. I would be taking one or two L-Lysine HCl capsules daily and a product I use called Bio-CMP, both from Biotics. L-Lysine helps absorb calcium, the Bio-CMP is a blend of calcium, magnesium and potassium. This is a great combination to help your cells stay “glued” safely together so viruses cannot do their dirty work. (Also, I mention Bio-Ae Mulsion Forte).
Also, Vitamin D, I used Bio-D Mulsion Forte– two drops on my tongue daily, and have for years. Vitamin D is a natural immune booster and also anti-microbial—so get in the sun.
