Gluten-Free
Hi Everyone!
These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including those on being gluten-free. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present it in an upcoming episode. Thank you!
Hello Dr Bob, My mother has had 3 stents put into her arteries. Her heart has no damage and no valve issues. She is diabetic and overweight as well. Normal blood pressure. I am helping her to get on to a good lifestyle of healthy eating and movement. I am so very confused however. Is Dr Esselstyn’s vegan/oil free heart healthy diet the way to go or is it a dairy free/grain free/sugar free/lots of good fats better? It’s virtually impossible to figure which is the best way to go with all the strong, conflicting opinions and information out there. Please help set me straight. I trust your voice and word the most.
First, thank you for the question which is the first time someone asked me about the two sides when it comes to heart health. There are many key factors; I would suggest you consider the Omega Oils Serum Profile Test to evaluate her oil levels and to see if she is heavy on omega-6 fats. Traditionally, the typical American plant-only/low-fat consumer I see in my office tends to miss out on good sources of protein; they lack B12, and are typically zinc deficient. Your mom being overweight and a diabetic does create a road block. I personally focus on non-starchy green vegetables, organic animal protein using olive oil. I do not eat sugar and I do not drink alcohol.
I live in Colorado. I’m very worried about my health. I’ve been 3 months without eating well. I have diabetes and Metformin causes diarrhea. I found out 2 weeks ago had c. diff, finished antibiotics, and the test came back negative from c diff but I can’t hold any food down. I don’t know what to eat to get back to health. This has caused depression and insomnia including brain fog. I saw your devotional on bible app. Please, can you advise?
Well, seeing that you have blood sugar stress creates your body as being a “petri” dish (stay away from sugar). I would suggest adding a product called Berberine. I also use a citrus seed extract in our office called Agrisept. I would like to see the results of a blood test called a CBC with a differential to evaluate your state of health (Contact).
Is gluten bad for everyone or only people with a gluten allergy?
Gluten causes the villi in your gut to stick together and reduce the absorption of vital nutrients.
I have been gluten-free for two years, and have enjoyed intestinal healing. Will I ever be able to eat it again?
I stopped alcohol in 1991 and will not return to consuming it. The collateral damage is not worth it.
Recently diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and interested in cutting gluten out; any helpful tips?
Search if the foods you eat have gluten in the ingredients.
