Tyrosine

#AskDrBob: Tyrosine

Hi Everyone!

These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including tyrosine and how it relates to mental health. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present it in an upcoming episode. Thank you!

Hi Dr. Bob, My dad is 82 yrs. old, weight 130, 5’ 5” tall and has been dealing with digestion rumbling in his guts for several years now. He used to pass gas, but now he must use the bathroom quite often because he has gas with bowel movements throughout the day limiting him from going out because he needs a bathroom. He does take Hydrozyme 1 per meal and Caprin 1 per meal. Eats coconut milk, eggs every other day for breakfast and gluten free cereal Cascadian Farms brand opposite days. He does not eat peanut butter and limited wheat. Thank you for your amazing knowledge on the body as a system.

I would suggest the FIT Test to see what foods he may be sensitive to.

Sporadic cerebellum ataxia: An MRI revealed a possibility of this. Is chiropractic something that can help? Any supplements that can prevent episodes?

I have seen a variety of conditions have positive changes when there is optimal spinal function. You may consider visiting us in Westlake, Ohio or Naples, Florida.

What is tyrosine and why is it important for mental health?

Tyrosine is an amino acid or protein building block used by the body as one of the ingredients of adrenal hormones.  When someone has stress their Tyrosine is used up.  Tyrosine is also an important part of thyroid.
