Hysterectomy
Hi Everyone!
These were the questions asked in this episode of #AskDrBob, including progesterone and a hysterectomy. If you have any general health questions, please email us, askdrbob@druglessdoctor.com, and we will present it in an upcoming episode. Thank you!
I am 45 and had a hysterectomy 2 years ago due to an enlarged uterus (adenomyosis) after 4 C-sections. They left my ovaries. I have been on progesterone for about 12 years due to low progesterone. Do I continue the progesterone and what supplements should I be taking after having a hysterectomy. I am not pre-menopause, I have continued to take my 100mg progesterone due to when I stopped I was back to being over emotional, irritated. Recently, blood work showed all my levels good as far as my Endocrinologist said usually I would suggest you stop progesterone since you had hysterectomy but with your levels being good and you say you feel it helps continue to take it. I take a bioidentical compounded progesterone.
Thank you for the very detailed question which will help others in their health journey. The key to post-hysterectomy is adrenal gland function; I would avoid sugar, you may consider completing an Adrenal Stress Index—saliva test.
What can I do/take for Eczema in ears? It’s making my ears itch after I eat, or when I wake up in the morning. I stay away from dairy (cow’s milk), cane sugar, and gluten. It gets scaly/flaky skin towards the outer canal and it makes my ears ring too. A doctor looked at it and confirmed what it was, but didn’t tell me what I could do to relieve the itchiness and ringing. I saw on your site Blackcurrant Seed Oil is good. Anything else I should do too? Please keep in mind I am nursing a one-year-old still.
I would suggest completing the Omega Test to determine exactly what your omega-3 and 6 oil levels are, and supplement accordingly. If the oil does not change the skin you may consider the FIT Test to see exactly what foods you may have a sensitivity to.
What would you suggest for someone diagnosed with diverticulitis @ age 68 (female)?
I would check to see if you have parasites either with a blood test checking your eosinophils and or stool culture and possible nutritional microscopy. You may consider the CBC with differential or GI Test Kit.
I suffer from severe constipation. I take a flax seed supplement that does help but not always. I drink plenty of water and exercise daily. Is there something else I should do?
You may have subpar thyroid function.
Could fibromyalgia in some cases be from systemic candida overgrowth?
Yes, but fibromyalgia is common with adrenal fatigue.
What do you think about the foot baths?
I have used them in the office and have had people get great results with a variety of health challenges including skin rashes, pain and an overall sense of well being.
