#DruglessDetox – Food & Herb Selection

Picture 103

Throughout the past two months during the #DruglessDetox, we have concentrated on food additives, detoxification processes (liver flush & castor oil pack), and various foods that will assist or thwart a purification program. Today, for our last post, I’m going to touch on the most important takeaways for you to keep in mind.

-Consume organically grown fruits (remember that I only promote a ½ red apple per day) and vegetables. When looking at the PLU number, organic begins with “9”.

-Avoid skinning or peeling vegetables, since the skin contains a large amount of the nutrients.

-Eat liberal portions of mixed green salads and raw vegetables twice daily.

-Confine the number of foods eaten at one meal to a minimum.

-Eat fruit at least thirty minutes before a meal (never with a meal, or soon after a meal). Fruit is digested within thirty minutes, so if it follows food which takes several hours to digest, it will sit in your stomach and ferment.

-Use cold-pressed oils, such as olive oil, flax, or sesame seed oils.

-Bounce on a large ball or mini-trampoline four or five minutes a day. This will assist in the movement of lymphatic fluids, critical for proper detoxification.

-Use a shower dechlorinator and chlorine free dishwasher detergent to minimize your exposure to chlorine. Also, you will want to limit bromine exposure (white bread, jacuzzis and pools, select beverages), I would locate fluoride-free toothpaste. Make sure you are taking adequate iodine.

Peppermint Leaf Oil

I regularly promote peppermint leaf as a digestive and purification oil, and is used for both chronic and acute indigestion, gastritis, and enteritis, acting in two distinct remedial ways:

-Peppermint’s essential oils enhance digestive activity by stimulating contractile activity in the gallbladder and by encouraging the secretion of bile.

Peppermint leaf oils normalize gastrointestinal activity, removing flaccidity and reducing cramps.
